Well, now they've used this financial crisis as excuse to partially nationalize several of the nations largest banks.

This is bad, very bad. The great socialist George Bush, the president who has spent more money than any president in history, has now made perhaps the most socialist move in our history. He has promised that this is only temporary:

"The government's role will be limited and temporary," Bush pledged. "These measures are not intended to take over the free market but to preserve it." He said these steps and other related actions echoed similar bold moves made overseas in an effort to prevent a global recession.

Bush said that by restoring confidence in the system, the hope is to "return our economy back to the road of growth and prosperity."

Why am I reminded of this moment...



This does not bode well for our future. It won't help the economy, even if the markets rebound in the short term. It rewards failure, like the bailout, and also, will make investors not want to invest. Why invest when the government can take over at any moment?

This problem was CAUSED by big government and socialism -- in the form of GSE's Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Socialist bankruptcy can not solved with more socialism.

"Temporary" my eye. What is going to happen when a REAL socialist like Obama takes over? More of the same. Obama will be like four more years of George Bush, only more of the worst of Bush, and none of the good of Bush.

100 Economists Trash Obama's Plan

It is hard enough getting TWO economists to agree, in that the only correct answer to any economic question is: it depends. Well, in a stunning moment of agreement, 100 economists have determined that Barack Obama's Plan for the Economy sucks.

Barack Obama argues that his proposals to raise tax rates and halt international trade agreements would benefit the American economy. They would do nothing of the sort. Economic analysis and historical experience show that they would do the opposite. They would reduce economic growth and decrease the number of jobs in America. Moreover, with the credit crunch, the housing slump, and high energy prices weakening the U.S. economy, his proposals run a high risk of throwing the economy into a deep recession. It was exactly such misguided tax hikes and protectionism, enacted when the U.S. economy was weak in the early 1930s, that greatly increased the severity of the Great Depression.

We are very concerned with Barack Obama's opposition to trade agreements such as the pending one with Colombia, the new one with Central America, or the established one with Canada and Mexico. Exports from the United States to other countries create jobs for Americans. Imports make goods available to Americans at lower prices and are a particular benefit to families and individuals with low incomes. International trade is also a powerful source of strength in a weak economy. In the second quarter of this year, for example, increased international trade did far more to stimulate the U.S. economy than the federal government's "stimulus" package.

Ironically, rather than supporting international trade, Barack Obama is now proposing yet another so-called stimulus package, which would do very little to grow the economy. And his proposal to finance the package with higher taxes on oil would raise oil prices directly and by reducing exploration and production.

We are equally concerned with his proposals to increase tax rates on labor income and investment. His dividend and capital gains tax increases would reduce investment and cut into the savings of millions of Americans. His proposals to increase income and payroll tax rates would discourage the formation and expansion of small businesses and reduce employment and take-home pay, as would his mandates on firms to provide expensive health insurance.

After hearing such economic criticism of his proposals, Barack Obama has apparently suggested to some people that he might postpone his tax increases, perhaps to 2010. But it is a mistake to think that postponing such tax increases would prevent their harmful effect on the economy today. The prospect of such tax rate increases in 2010 is already a drag on the economy. Businesses considering whether to hire workers today and expand their operations have time horizons longer than a year or two, so the prospect of higher taxes starting in 2009 or 2010 reduces hiring and investment in 2008.

In sum, Barack Obama's economic proposals are wrong for the American economy. They defy both economic reason and economic experience.

One middle-class, small business person clearly spells out the socialist agenda of Obama -- totally nails him. The video goes onto another subject, but it's still worth watching. Let us hope this one really gets around.

Another Quality Negative Ad from McCain.

This has all the marks of a good attack ad. One, it is true. Two, it makes a valid point. Three, it doesn't rely on cheap tactics to make that point. I'm still probably not going to vote for him as long as he keeps advocating socialism on housing, but as always, I'll give credit where I feel credit is due.

Maybe, just maybe, McCain doesn't really want to lose this year.

Okay, now it looks like we are starting to talk about Hell -- time for Baptists and Pentacostals to cheer, finally! he is talking about Hell!

But wait, we have here a very interesting discussion. Peter says that Christ, the Perfect One, suffered for sins -- the just (Him) for the unjust (the rest of us poor slobs), and that he died in the flesh but was raised in the spirit. Cool.

But what's next? We have the raised Christ going to some kinda prison, presumably HELL, and what does Jesus do? He doesn't burn them, he doesn't whip them, he doesn't torment them for all eternity...he PREACHES to them.

Now, look, I've listened to lousy preachers and, truth be told, some sermons can FEEL like eternal torment and damnation. But no, this is JESUS preaching. We know that dude could preach, after all, we have His sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes -- that dude brought the house down, as preachers go. If Jesus is preaching, well, Hell ain't so hellish anymore.

Not only that, but we have an interesting metaphor -- We, the believers are being compared with Noah and his family -- here's that special salvation again, complete with baptism in water for us again -- and the people in Hell that is Jesus' new underground church are the poor slobs who thought Noah was crazy and ended up dying in the Flood.

Sounds like all those people who think I'm crazy thinking Jesus died for all sin.
