McCain has conceded with a gracious speech, it is time to celebrate a truly historical moment in our nation's great history. We have elected our first African-American president, and that is a truly wonderful thing.
At this moment I feel there are a few things that need to be considered.
We are a nation still at war. And, although the media and the Democrats have spent the last several years trying to undermine us in the war out of the petty hatred of President Bush, cheering every setback in Iraq, using every American death as an excuse to declare surrender, and otherwise endangering us in the biggest struggle in our history -- I hope and pray Republicans DO NOT DO THE SAME.
The time has come to set aside the crap and unite behind our new President and continue with this struggle, which will probably outlast him.
Hopefully, now that Democrats will own this war, this great struggle, they will really try and win it with the rest of us. I predict they will, and that will be the greatest thing about Obama and his super-majority.
I also hope and pray that Obama learns from Mr. Clinton, and does not over-reach as Clinton did in his first two years. I hope he governs as a pragmatic centrist, doesn't raise taxes enough to harm the economy, and doesn't over regulate us. I hope he isn't fooled by the global warming fascists, and avoids harming us over a chimera.
I have hope for a certain change. Let us unite and fight the evil we face. Please.

They will overreach.
The Dems think that they now have a mandate to create the NeoCom (neo communist) paradise.
This in the midst of an economic crisis will fail.
2010, Republicans gain as much as they can in Congress. Retake the House, gain some in the Senate.
2012... The rebirth... Palin/Jindal
I actually live in fear at this moment - fear that there are people still in our society who will NOT allow Mr Obama to govern. Fear that they will take their hatred of people of color to the extreme, and do something foolish before he can even step foot in the Oval Office.
This can be potentially a great era in our nation. But it's going to take both Democrats and Republicans thinking outside the usual party line, working *together* to bring about the potential inherent of the situation.
I hope and pray I am wrong, and that those who would do the President-Elect harm grow beyond their petty beliefs. I hope and pray that Mr Obama indeed sees that "talk" alone isn't going to solve the issues we have concerning terrorism - a line *must* be drawn in the sand, and we as a people need to say "No More". I hope and pray that he disabuses himself of the notion that economic woes can be solved by raising the Minimum wage and/or taxing the wealthy heavily.
We are at the cusp of a new day. it can either be a great one - or miserable. Hope reigns supreme among many that we have made the correct decision, but only time will tell.
I think it is time to take Mr. McCain's motto to heart and place "Country First."
I want to see McCain LEAD in this. He is still a high ranking senator. HE can truly be a leader.
X I DO like the NeoCom term lol. As someone who has been called a "neocon" because I am a libertarian hawk, I dig it.
We will see... If The One and his cohorts launch into the Constitution, into restricting liberties, into the unfairness doctrine (because AM Radio is the only non internet media the Left doesn't compete well in), and bankrupt the Coal industry (which is the backbone of the region I live in) he will be facing far worse than a Lee Harvey Oswald, he may instigate the Second Civil War.

Update: Cameron on Fox just said Bobby Jindal is going to Iowa. I guess 2012 has already started.
Palin/Jindal is a dream ticket for me.
